remember when i promised to post a huge wrap-up? yeah...

i'm doing it now, slowly but surely. i think what put me off blogging was my trip to the uk in 2015, after that i kind of fell off of the bandwagon for a while. i'm sorry. today, however, i just got inspired.

141 - prove it

oh hey look i'm back? maybe? once in a quarter of the year kind of thing?

it's the 19th of january 2018 which means i've been inactive on this blog for well over a year. that's so unfortunate, considering that i had honestly done nothing from november 2016 to may 2017. in may i got a job for a little while, in september i started university. here's a little surprise i guess. i'm studying! literature! it's a dream that came true finally after two years of trying to get into uni. so, yes. i live and study over two-hour ride away from home now.

but that doesn't mean i haven't read books since i last updated. last year i ended up reading about ninety books which i'm going to wrap up in the next upcoming post (i will get to it when i'm on my break next week). right now it is exam season and i have just one and a half exams left, so this break i'll have will be a perfect time.

i don't know why i stopped blogging. i loved it - and still love it - so much! it's just that i probably found other priorities. for example, i finished a couple of translation works on wattpad and i have one that i'm still working on because i've had no motivation to continue anything in the last like nine months. it's terrible. it's the worst writer's block i've ever had i think.

reading-wise... after starting school i haven't had all that much time to read either. i just try to make time but it doesn't work out as much because of all the homework and all the tiredness after lectures thing. i mostly watch anime and youtube now. also a top priority every day is 'my kitchen rules' so i don't know what's up with that. i love it though, seen all the seasons except for season 4 (airing now!) and season 8 which i hope they'll show after season 4. maybe they'll show masterchef where my favourite human won. i don't know, really.

i've been to animatsuri, seen apocalyptica, three days grace, august burns red, RAMMSTEIN!!!; been to sweden a couple of times, been to the UK to see friendos and to see paramore. my dream finally came true and i saw my favourite band live. i still can not believe it happened, honestly. they're perfection in my eyes. absolute and utter perfection.

now to my most recent reads!

i haven't had all that much time to read in january so far because of exams, travelling and obsessing over bangtan sonyeondan. that's right - i became obsessed with bts, just as every other human in the world. current bias is suga, i can't choose a bias wrecker though - they're all wrecking over each other all the time. but my man yoongi is still my bias, even after a month of obsession.

august was a pretty decent reading month, if i say so myself. not the best but not the worst either and i'm pretty happy with it.

139 - august '16 book haul + 5 for 1 challenge

this month i didn't acquire a lot of books which i'm extremely happy about actually. i'll tell you all about it later on.

here we go!

The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon / Mäe hääl by Yasunari Kawabata

the fiery cross is the fifth installment in the outlander series but i'll get to the first one eventually, i swear. i just got this fifth one for a bargain! and the other book is by a japanese author and i hope it's got a lot of the things in that i love about japan, so yep -- hopes are high for this one.

It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover / Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass

as soon as i received it ends with us, i dropped everything else i was reading basically. i just needed  this book in my life and i heard rave reviews (still do!) and it is amazing. i have undying love for colleen hoover. and happily ever after is the novellas from the selection series by kiera cass which i read last year. i also got the crown by kiera cass which is the fifth and final book in the series but my friend is currently reading it.

Charade by Nyrae Dawn / The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen

these two are a couple of the new adult reads i picked up. i was just on such a new adult kick (still am!) that i wanted to read some new series and these both are series' starters. excited for those!

Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan / Thoughtless by S. C. Stephens

i've heard some mixed  things about thoughtless but i oughta give it a try, so i got it. also i really like this cover so much better than the us one, yeah. also heard a lot of positive things about reason to breathe and thought i'd pick it up. both, again, are series' starters. and they're way past four hundred pages, too.


and that concludes my book haul for august! well, the physical one at least.

before we get into the book haul for my wattpad library, i just want y'all to appreciate alllll the tabs i put in my copy of 'it ends with us'. all the colors represent a different emotion i went through. i love this.


here's my wattpad library update! i am only now kind of learning to edit on my new computer, so this month y'all are getting only my list of the books i added. enjoy nevertheless! also, i just realized i forgot to make one for the month of july as well, so this is a combined list for both months.

so, now i've decided to join this little challenge called 5 for 1 challenge and basically this means that you have to read five books you own before buying a new book. and i've only now in september been really strict about it and i've only gotten my pre-orders this month so far, or more so, i'm getting them this month. there's four which means technically i would have to read twenty books this month but that ain't gonna happen right now 'cause i've made it really strict - so that i'm only counting the physical books i own and i'm not counting wattpad, ebooks and library books in there. also if i have two books in one, i'm counting it as one book - for example, in my copy of 'opposition', i also have a prequel novella called 'shadows'.

so this month i've not completed any of my own books so far, just library and wattpad books. i'm trying to get through some of my books and i really am itching to reread 'an ember in the ashes' but i can't before i finish 'opposition' and 'shadows', so there's that ish.

138 - perfect chemistry

hey hey!

i've still not done a wrap up and a book haul 'cause i'm busy finishing up reading my library books 'cause their due date is next week. sorry.

fortunately, i'm halfway done with the last book i borrowed. so it's five out of five books i've read of them i got. so proud,

i finished up with reading ten tiny breaths and it was enjoyable to me, although i did already guess the big secret thing pretty much as soon as the male character came into the story which was a bit disappointing to me. i would've liked a bit more of the angst in it and our main gal gave in way too quickly, or it just was written to go this quickly. i don't know. anyhow - four out of five stars. a notch down 'cause the main gal was annoying and egoistic from time to time.

i started and finished reading perfect chemistry by simone elkeles pretty much in one day. it was really good to me. first off - it's the first diverse book i've read in a while that's partially new adult.
          our main character brittany ellis is the girl that everybody thinks has it all - she's the high school sweetheart, the captain of the pom team, she's rich, she has the perfect boyfriend and lives in a giant house. what else could you want in life? that's where everyone who thinks that, is wrong. she struggles to keep her relationship with her parents, her boyfriend, her friends and her sister as it is because that's just how it has always been for her. she keeps her reputation up for the sake of her parents.
          life isn't easy for alex fuentes either. he's the man in his family of four - his mother and two little brothers. he's in a dangerous gang called latin blood where he isn't really doing all the super 'dangerous' things just yet. he goes to school and tries to keep his life as normal as he can, while everyone besides his friends at school think of him as a freak, a lowerclassman.
          the two of our main characters are paired up for the next year of chemistry class and a series of mishaps occur. things get tough and feelings get involved, but the two can't seem to get out of each other's minds.

five out of five. this was brilliant to me. i am kind of in need of my own copy of this and the rest of the books but i'm not getting them, no worries. i'm cutting down my book buying right now by a ton.:)

currently i'm reading breathe by abbi glines which is the first book in the sea breeze series. this tells the story of sadie and jax whose lives are so very different from each other.
          sadie, as a seventeen-year old, has to be the mother of her house as her own mother is pregnant with a baby and, well, she isn't the most responsible person out there. therefore, sadie has to take over her job as a housekeeper at a prestigious private land in sea breeze, alabama. under the tough eyes of the stone family, she tries her best to keep her job as they normally don't hire underaged people.
          jax stone is a teenage heartthrob of a rock star. he's on the walls of teenage girls all over the world and he spends eighty five per cent of his time on tour. he rarely ever has free time, so he has a summer off at his private mansion with his family. he wants no responsibilities and no girls for the summer - he just wants to relax.
          jax and sadie meet when sadie has to deliver food for him and his mother, and the two instantly click. they find each other interesting, and jax feels more drawn to sadie because she could honestly care less for his image and popularity, and to him, she's a hard-working and way mature girl for her age.
          things don't come easy for either of them as they only want their relationship to be only a summer thing, especially as another man has eyes for the only girl jax has ever thought about giving his heart to.

so far, it's been quite the ride. i'm liking it but so far it's more of a four-star book and it's just a breeze to read through. i'm halfway done and plan to finish it and i promise to give you my thoughts when i finish it.
