52 - illegally yours

i finished reading illegally yours late last night and i'd say i wasn't too much into it?? just like with 'girls like you', i just wanted to see where the secret was out and when it was, all hell went loose for a while but then it just ended as a normal love story.
i'd say my favorite relationship (or friendship in this case) in the story was the one between niall and zayn's because they bickered a lot and they were just quite fun. i also really loved harry in this one because of his big brother role and how he wanted to protect frida mae from what was bound to happen.
i get that our main character was worried about the whole thing she plotted coming out and i honestly wanted to see more seriousness to it, as in legal things but it's fiction - and i totally get that the author wants her story to end happily and that's what the fans of this story wanted. but oh my - what even were liam and cat!????

there was this one quote that i really really loved in 'illegally yours':

"loving you was the biggest crime i've committed and i will forever declare myself guilty for that."

i've also been reading a new story, called twitter dms, and i'm probably getting through with it by the end of today because i'm probably not picking up the sequel (and by sequel, i mean aeonian, not the other books in the series e.g. 'wattpad', 'imessage' and 'kik'). so far, from what i've gathered, it's quite dramatic but i think that the things that are happening are like, too dramatic as in more traumatizing for the characters if you get what i mean?? i just feel really bad for luke because the main character isn't your usual high school/university student or anything and she is flawed, more than average main characters in fan fictions. i do like reading about either disabled characters or people with mental issues like disorders or syndromes but i don't know, this story just seems to be going downhill in all senses for me. maybe i'll be picking up the sequel to 'twitter dms' but i guess i'll have to see when i actually get to the end.

i've listened to an audiobook called the resistance by s. l. scott and i'm about halfway through the audiobook. so, basically, our main character is basically the woman who invented something that i can't remember from the top of my head, so now she's a big deal in an industry of that thing. she is invited to a party, a gathering of her friend and she eyes up a man in there but for the majority of the party, she doesn't make a deal out of it. later on, the party is going on on full swing and a guy hits on holliday (main character) so she doesn't want to get a drink from the party's bar. she goes into a hotel bar instead and thinks that the bartender is hot n shit. she orders herself a drink but a guy - the one she eyed up at the party - is there suddenly and asks for her identification to get drinks. they bicker and she gets her i.d. after she's left her bag at the party. the guy introduces himself as a security guard at the hotel but that's certainly to keep his identity from holliday. naturally, he invites her up to his room - which happens to be a penthouse-type room - and things happen, as it is basically an adult erotica novel (by the way, i absolutely did not know that because i randomly searched for audiobooks on youtube and that came up and i knew nothing about this book). there's secrets and messed up pasts and things that make the story intriguing for me and i can't wait to get back into it! probably will be finishing it by tomorrow since i've got around five hours more to listen to it.

and the last book i've been reading since my last update was moby dick by herman melville but i can't get into it at all so i probably will be dropping it after reading about thirty five pages. maybe later. i actually wanted to read it because a movie is coming out that i thought that was based on the book but it isn't so...

after 'twitter dms' i'll be reading 'daddy issues' and i've made it a goal to finally read 'cinder' as well as shakespeare's 'macbeth' in december because another movie is coming out and it's based on the book.

until next update!
