synopsis:
Penny's bags are packed.
When Noah invites Penny on his European music tour, she can't wait to spend time with her rock-god-tastic boyfriend.
But, between Noah's jam-packed schedule, less-than-welcoming bandmates and threatening messages from jealous fans, Penny wonders whether she's really cut out for life on tour. She can't help but miss her family, her best friend Elliot . . . and her blog, Girl Online.
Can Penny learn to balance life and love on the road, or will she lose everything in pursuit of the perfect summer?

first off, this is the second book in the duology/series/trilogy thing.
decided to give out some emotions on this book because i have many.
second off, i want to give you my first thoughts that i posted on my goodreads review:
3-3.5 stars...
I feel very on edge with this, I don't know really what to give it. It was good, in some way I liked this better than the first book. In this one I felt like you could see more of how Zoe herself relates to Penny, and some things matched with the two's personalities. Also, I myself couldn't relate to Penny as she is so much more younger than I am in this story. Usually I don't mind it but I feel like she took things way more seriously as other sixteen-year olds really do.
I really liked the Alex-Elliot aspect of it and my favorite character by far was Blake - at least he spiced things up a bit, instead of the story being a giant fluff ball. Also, for me, the 'mystery' was kind of predictable from the moment we were introduced to what had happened.
I should have probably given the first book in the series a reread before going straight into this, as of now I feel like I liked this book more than the first one, and I'm probably changing my rating for the first one (which by now, I did).
this is mostly what i thought of this book. NOW TO THE SPOILERY THINGS.
i found it to be obvious for dean to steal penny's phone off the ground - he was constantly bugging both noah and penny about the relationship thing whilst he's on the rise of fame. it was clear that dean didn't want penny and noah together, and for a second he got what he wanted.
i felt as if elliot was based on tyler oakley in this - the cheery side of the relationship, the guy who's there to comfort. he just gave me such tyler oakley vibes.
i really really liked blake, naturally because he spiced things up, as i said, and he did it big time. he made penny confused, he made her uncomfortable and he most definitely enjoyed doing it. he was obviously also against penny's and noah's relationship, as noah was eighteen and blake pretty much thought that he deserved to be single while he's on this european tour with a huge band where he could have any girl who throws themselves at him.
also, i feel like penny really should've seen it coming better. she thought the tour would be this really fun little adventure but of-fucking-course you're going to have trouble while being on tour with your boyfriend. sure, you've been together for six months - but how many of these six months did you actually see each other? just something to think about. noah and penny don't know each other as well as they think they do.
i wasn't too much into the leah thing in this either, though it was good for penny to have someone to look out for her.
in the end, i liked that penny finally got her head outta her bottom, and thought for herself rather about her relationship.
also, just want to point out that i love zoe a lot and i have nothing against her or her writing, it just wasn't for me anymore i guess. it's definitely for younger audiences than i am already. :)
until next time
x o
