i'm taking part of yet another read-a-thon but this time i'll be more motivated because it's book buddy-a-thon. and i'm participating with one of my really good friends, kadri.
book buddy-a-thon takes place on from the 7th of may to the 13th of may, so it's another week-long read-a-thon. it's hosted by elena over at elena reads books and sam over at coldteaandcrumbs on youtube.

now, this week will be more difficult than usual because it's eurovision week and everyone knows how damn much i love eurovision and i'll watch all the semi-finals and the final. but i think i can manage with this read-a-thon since it's super sunny outside lately and i've been feeling like reading more now that i can actually go outside and leave all the distractions (e.g. my laptop where i watch youtube all the time) inside.
there are five challenges for book-buddy-t-hon and you have to pick a friend or a fellow blogger/booktuber/bookstagrammer to do this with you. i picked a friend of mine who reads even more books than i do (mostly). and i'm doing this on my own since we couldn't even find a book to buddy-read... hah.
my tbr for book buddy-a-thon:
- choose three books and get your buddy to pick one from them for you to read
for this book i first of all, picked everything everything by nicola yoon, pretty baby by mary kubica or onyx by jennifer l. armentrout. and from these three, she chose for me to read everything everything. really excited to read this because first off, it's contemporary - i love me my contemporaries. it has tons of mixed media in it, so it's fairly easy to read and it's not a chunker either.
2. buddy-read a book with your buddy
this was funny because we don't have books that neither of us have read and all that we have in common in our tbr are a couple of classics and all the light we cannot see by anthony doerr. now, all of these books are more than four hundred pages long and i absolutely cannot power through all of the four hundred pages in one-two days. so, i told her to choose from another three books, just one for me to read. she chose from carrie by stephen king, soulstice by simon holt and faking it by cora carmack, and i'll be reaidng faking it.
3. read a book with your buddy's favourite colour on
kadri's favourite colour is green, so for this i chose p.s. i still love you by jenny han, since it's got green on the cover and the spine, and it has big text and at least the first one was a quick read. i remember some of the first book, so i'll have to skim through the first one so i wouldn't go into the second book completely blind.
4. read a book that's title starts with the first letter of your buddy's name (or at least appears in the title if not possible).
her name starts with a 'K', so for this i have to choose between the raven boys by maggie stiefvater (because in estonian it's called 'kaarnapoisid') or a clockwork orange by anthony burgess (in estonian, 'kellvärgiga apelsin'). havne't quite decided yet but i'll see which one i like better when i get to one of them!
5. read a book you want to... just because
for this i chose the book that i'm reading right after i finish with remember to forget (i have about seventy pages to go) and it's lucas by kevin brooks. if i manage to finish it before i get to this challenge, or right on sunday, i'll switch this book up for something else. probably something from the four choices that i didn't get from when kadri chose me books. probably pretty baby... 'cause i'm a little bit craving to read a thriller right now.
so there you have it! this is my tbr for book buddy-a-thon and i'll be participating in this in the next following week. i'll make sure to do updates just as with rybsat round 8 and i'll make sure to do the page counts as well, because i always forget.
however this is more laid back and has five challenges and i really hope i can manage reading all of these books during next week. fingers crossed!
