126 - a court of thorns and roses
i have finished a few books while i've been away from my blog. i'm currently doing another read-a-thon (tbr takedown 4.0) which i didn't post a tbr for because i actually don't know what is going to really end up in the wrap-up and although i do have a tbr, i don't know if i'm going to finish reading what i have since four out of the five books i chose are past four hundred pages long.
here's a little about the books i've finished, and the book i'm currently reading.
since the last time i updated, i have finished reading opal which was marvellous. it ended on such a cliffhanger that i can't wait to get into the fourth book but also then i don't want the series to end (with the fifth one). it's such a fun and a pretty light series to read, even though things get more serious towards the end of the third book. either way, i obviously gave this book five out of five stars because i just love it a lot a lot a lot.
with after i'm a little past a hundred pages right now and i'm taking it slow because i'm reading it with my sister. she's reading the cringe-y parts by herself 'cause the steamy scenes are way too awkward to read out loud.. i'm not about that life.
right after 'opal', i picked up, again, probably one of my favorite books i've read this year - a court of thorns and roses by sarah j. maas. this was my first maas book and i was incredibly impressed with it. i've always known that if i picked up one of her books, i'd love it. i know that bloggers and booktubers are pretty much in love with anything she writes, and i would be no different. even though i spent four days reading it, it still was a really fast and thoroughly enjoyable read. for the most part, i read it in two days. the first two don't really count 'cause i didn't get into it as much and only read about fifty pages, which isn't much since the book itself is over four hundred pages long. i also did a little characters' drawing page in my sketchbook of what i imagined everyone to look like, though they probably do not look like what i drew at all (and i drew the faes/faeries without the masks). again, this was a very obvious five star read 'cause i just thought it was brilliant. i can't wait to pick up the second book which is like over two hundred pages longer than the first one. maybe i'll explode after i read the second book, who knows. team rhys, woohoo!
currently i'm reading scarlet by marissa meyer which is the second book in the lunar chronicles series. so far, i'm finding the two main characters to be interesting but i'm only less than forty pages in and i want to get done with at least half of the book during today (and it's over four hundred and fifty pages). it was interesting to see how quickly the love interest came into the story as well, 'cause he was already in action during like the first chapter. further thoughts up to come when i finish it!
and i am halfway done with translating call me ella by belwatson on wattpad! i have readers now which is an indescribable amazing feeling. i've never really had regular readers and right now, i don't really care if i only have like seven people reading my translation, but they're always so nice! i love y'all.
today's song choice is 'alexander hamilton' from the musical, 'hamilton'. i'm obsessed with it.
until next time
