129 - easy
hey!
this week has been a pretty good week for reading for me, since i've finished reading a couple of books and i plan to finish one (if not two) more book today.
first off, i dnf-ed reading my debt to a billionaire on wattpad because i was just not interested in it any longer and i felt really unattached to the main characters of the story, even though i know that one of my best friends really enjoyed reading it. i've sort of just right now fell out of reading on wattpad and i'm more into my physical and ebook formats of books right now.
i'm also in the middle of translating chapter twenty of call me ella and i'm also quite not into it at thsi very moment 'cause this past week i've not updated once. at least last week i updated three times.
now to the books i've actually read this week.
i finished reading throne of glass by sarah j. maas which obviously was a pretty amazing book 'cause in the past month i've grown to love her writing and all of her series' characters. four point five stars out of five because on some chapters i felt bored and since it is a first book in an eight-book series, i can't really judge it much until i've read further.
then i picked up easy by tammara webber which is the first book in the contours of the heart series. this is a new adult romance that deals with triggering topics (e.g. rape). our main protagonist is jacqueline who has recently broken up with her boyfriend and after two weeks, she's getting back on track with her life. a friend of hers invites her to a party which she accepts and at that party, as she is leaving, a college student from her college attempts to rape her in her car. after a failed attempt, a guy called lucas comes in and jackie becomes interested in him 'cause he doesn't seem to have many friends and he keeps to himself, and of course (as in ninety nine per cent of books...) he's breath-takingly gorgeous. jacqueline is getting back on track in one of her lessons in college she's skipped past break up, so she gets assigned to a tutor online, landon. she doesn't meet him in real life but she gets on with him well. of course, there's secrets within landon and lucas, and she's determined to find out what they are. this was a very decent new adult read to me, i really liked how it dealt with the topic of rape because it made it seem very serious, as it should be - no flowers. four points twenty five stars.
the next book i decided to randomly pick up was beautiful bastard by christina lauren. i can forgive this book a tiny bit since it was a twilight fan fiction before publication. i did not like how it pretty much only focused on straight-up sex. just, no. there wasn't much of a storyline going on. it was your typical billionaire-intern story where one falls for the other and things happen etc. it wasn't amazing but it was decent 'cause it flowed as in i read it in a day. it wasn't boring. it could've definitely used a lot of character development and i wanted more of the characters' background and family. three stars.
then right now i'm reading two books - one of them is something i picked up way back in february - rule by jay crownover. i feel like it's been good that i took a long break on before continuing with it. i wasn't into it back then but now i feel invested in the characters, but again, as it's not the most miraculous thing in the world, it's entertaining. right now, it's about three point five stars from me. but i have about a hundred pages to go, so we'll see what will happen. i'm sad that we don't have a book on remy. :(
and the other book i'm reading is origin by jennifer l. armentrout which is the fourth book in the lux series. can't say much, but i'm a hundred pages in. it's interesting but right now a bit boring 'cause it has a lot of the experiment/biology things. i'm not into that (hence my rating on 'allegiant' by veronica roth).
next up will be my tbr for booktubeathon, starting tomorrow!!!
today's song choice is adam lambert ft. laleh's 'welcome to the show'.
until next time
x o
