130 - booktube-a-thon 2016 tbr

booktube-a-thon stars tomorrow, the seventeeth of july and goes to the twenty fourth of july this year! again, it is hosted by the lovely ariel over ariel bissett, and she has a channel dedicated especially for booktube-a-thon.

this is my second year participating in it, and last year this was my first ever read-a-thon and i've taken part in quite a few after that. so, if you're also interested in taking part, here's all you need to know about this year's booktube-a-thon:

this year's challenges:

1 - read a book with yellow on the cover

pretty self-explanatory. you just pick a book that has the colour yellow on the cover.

my choice for this is a reread of an ember in the ashes by sabaa tahir because the next book in the series is coming out in the end of august and i want to be prepared for it, even though i read it back in january and already i'm doing a reread, oh dear...

2 - read a book you discovered through booktube

again - self-explanatory. this can be any book you've seen people talk about in videos, anything that's peeked your interest after seeing the video, and that you really had never heard about it before you watched that video, basically.

my choice for this is crown of midnight by sarah j. maas which is the second book int he throne of glass series. now, this is a bit of a tough one 'cause i don't know if i'll be able to power through it. it depends on how fast-paced the book is, really.

3 - read a book from one of your favorite authors

for this, again, i chose colleen hoover and her book maybe someday 'cause this has been on my radar since i also discovered it on booktube, and i've seen a lot of praise about it. so far, my favorite book by her is 'ugly love' but after this, we'll see what happens.

4 - read a book that is older than you

this is a little tricky 'cause first off - i read mostly recent releases. recent as in past like two thousand and five, pretty much. mostly even past twenty twelve. i do own quite a few books that are much older than i am.

my choice for this is harder 'cause i don't know if i can power through books longer than four hundred pages every day, however i chose american psycho by bret easton ellis for the challenge - you see my dilemma?

5 - read a book and watch the adaptation

i chose the maze runner for this since i've actually already seen the movie of it. and it's a bit of a shorter book than the others, so i hope i can finally get through it and read it 'cause i've had the trilogy for a while and i want to get to it, too.

6 - read a book only after sunset

for this challenge, you can not read the book when the sun is up. it's a bit tricky 'cause here where i live, the sun goes down at only like eleven at night right now. so...

i chose a novella for this - maybe not by colleen hoover which takes place after 'maybe someday', so this is perfect.

7 - read a total of 7 books

my last choice is to readthe sequel to 'beautiful bastard', beautiful stranger by christina lauren. jsut because i flew through the first book and i think i can do it easily with this one, too. it's bound to be a fun little book that's just mostly about the entertainment, and that's pretty much what i'm into right now.

of course, my tbr may change in the process of reading but i'll try and do daily updates again!

until next time

x o
