134 - july '16 book haul

hi!

i'm gonna get on it right away and 'show' you the books i acquired in the month of july. and i know i'm like half a month late with this. soz.

Frog Music by Emma Donoghue; From Notting Hill with Love... Actually by Ali McNamara; Leaving Poppy by Kate Cann

these are the first three finds from a thrift store when i went to tallinn. i sometimes like myself a bit of chick-lit and ya horror and thrillers, so we'll see where these ones will take me once i read them.

Runelight by Joanne Harris; The Summer Garden by Paullina Simons

i realized that 'runelight' was the second book in a trilogy after i'd gotten home from the store. oh, well. i knew that 'the summer garden' was the third book in the bronze horseman trilogy, so i purchased it just because it was hardcover and it was ridiculously cheap. also both those books are from the brighton hove library which i thought was fun. i'd love to visit brighton someday.

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara; In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World by Joey Graceffa

i'd been eyeing 'a little life' way before i got it. at least for a year, i want to say? i'd first heard ot it from booktube but never got the guts to buy this specific copy 'cause this one was originally over twenty five euros at the store and there's no way in hell i was paying that much for it. but when i got it, it was on sale for sixteen euros and i had a five-euro gift card so this was super good that i got it for so much less! 'in real life' i got for four euros - i wanted to get it when it came out but never wanted to pay full price for it, so i managed to snag this copy from another thrift store part of a bookstore and got it for only four euros 'cause it has about twenty pages somewhere in the middle upside down, as in it was a mistake done in the factory i guess.

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman

i've been wanting this book since BEA last year (2015) when the advanced reader copies became available. finally got it (in hardback!) just last month. yesssssssss. and 'gemina' comes out real soon!

Surmahotell 1 & 2 by Stephen King (The Shining in Estonian); Meie pole süüdi by Raimond Kaugver (We Are Not to Blame in English, not translated)

i've been wanting 'the shining' for the absolute longest time and i finally got the first and second part in estonian from a secondhand shop in pärnu for twenty five cents each. amazing. really cool old copies as well. and the other book is something i've been interested in ever since my classmate talked about it in class two years ago now.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas; On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher; Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

'heir of fire' and 'queen of shadows' are the third and fourth books in the throne of glass series so that's an obvious purchase lol. gotta love sjm. 'on the other side' was a pre-order 'cause i love carrie and her videos a lot. also i got it a week before release date! yes!!! that never happens!!!

and that is my book haul for the month in a nutshell. got some real good books for some real good deals. haven't read any of them yet 'cause i'm on a bit of a slump but i'm powering through a book right now but that's some talk for another post.

today's song choice is 'the sound of silence' cover by disturbed.

until next time

x o
