135 - science, bitch
hi!!!!!
today i thought i'd do one of these little small reviews of what i've been reading for a little while since the last time i updated my blog.
the first book i've tackled is origin by jennifer l. armentrout which is the fourth book in the lux series. this was a four-star read for me since i'm still not very much on board with very science or biology-based scenes in books (meaning i didn't like 'allegiant' by veronica roth). but nevertheless, the first half of the book was slow but the second half picked up very much.
the same could be said on the fifth book in the series, opposition, which i'm currently reading. it is the last book in the series (but i have the novella to read as well, 'shadows'). it has been interesting btu, again, the first half so far has been slow for me.
the next thing i thought i'd do after a while, was that i started reading on wattpad again. the first book i completed only yesterday was sex addicts by fallovtboy which was a michael clifford fan fiction.
this focuses on our main characters michael and devon who are both sex addicts but in two completely different ways. they go to therapy and meet on a new york city street and their first impressions on each other aren't the most pleasant thing in the world. michael is in a relationship and his addiction goes as far as only being with only his girlfriend but pretty much as much as possible which his girlfriend finds to be problematic, so he's sent to therapy. devon's addiction is that she likes sex but there's no emotion behind it, she just has sex with many people and that's it.
the two start getting along pretty quickly as they go to therapy, and they become friends. eventually, feelings come into play, and michael and devon have to figure out what to do about them since neither really knows about each other's feelings and michael has a girlfriend. so what happens?
this book was... interesting. i did like it but the ending was so predictable because the 'thing' that happened was pretty much already mentioned within the first ten chapters (they're short chapters). and it was cliché and cheesy, as the wattpad stories go. so this is a three point five star book to me.
i'm currently reading science, bitch by llamas and this is about calum hood. our main character is avery who's the average teenage girl, and then there's the group of boys who she describes to be 'fake'. she doesn't get along with the boys - luke, calum, michael and ashton. she is assigned to the same study group with the four of them and already just as the boys have sat down at a table, their first prank begins against her. calum makes avery feel uncomfortable and this results in them being sent to the principal's office. avery is aware of her past feelings for calum and she tries to push them away, but as the story goes, it's not that easy. the two are still a mystery to each other and they'd do anything to prove that the other has feelings for them, even is they might not show it.
i'm feeling very meh about it so far but if i can't get into it within like the next three chapters, i'm droppin' it. it's an average high school/college students falling in love kind of story and i'm a bit over it as it has all of the very standard things and just stuff that's been done like three hundred seventy thousand times. so far, two point five stars, but we'll see. we'll see.
and that is a wrap for now. i've been catching up on youtube videos since i've got a ton to watch and i don't want to miss some good ones, so my watch later list is overflowing since the beginning of june (i blame 5sos). and by a ton, i mean exactly six hundred and fifty one right now.
today's song choice is 'non-stop' from ham. love me some ham. i'm hamilton trash.
until next time
x o
