59 - prom nights from hell + bookmas day 5-7

goodreads / wattpad / instagram

i'm still reading project daddy and it's cramathon tomorrow.... oh hell no...

i'm basically ahead of schedule with cramathon - thankfully - because i read prom nights from hell yesterday and i didn't like it as much and that's ptobably why it took me such a long time to read - from october to well, now.

so, i'm one book ahead and i want to start reading life and death: twilight reimagined by stephenie meyer today or early tomorrow because i want to finish this book, i really really do and listen to the resistance as much as i can tomorrow as well before my family arrives for the festivities.

i also finished reading cinder by marissa meyer a couple of days ago and oh my god, this has to be one of my favorite books i've read this year because i finished it in two days and it was so good. honestly. i've never read a better sci-fi (ish) book probably in my life and it's a retelling of cinderella and it's fantastic and prince kai is such a babe.

i'm over halfway done with reading project daddy so i'll probably finish it in like max. two days.

so, 'project daddy' is about ashton irwin and he is a jock in this book. our main character is pandora and she is luke hemmings' sister in this. luke is a jock as well and he's friends with ashton, as well as michael and calum who are jocks basically as well. the story starts with pandora's and ashton's teacher pairing them up for a project where they have to raise a plastic doll as if it was their baby for two weeks and well, things start to get complicated there. they fail their project because of luke's stupidness and have to redo it and things are even more complicated and by then the story hardly has anything to do with the baby project and it's more about ashton's and pandora's relationship. this story involves sexy scenes as well, which i actually thought that the whole thing was gonna be about - basically, ashton being a 'daddy' but that's definitely not it and it's more about the plot evolving and i quite like it actually.

bookmas day 5
on the fifth day of bookmas my true love gave to me five hours of crying

the last book that i got a bit emotional about was actually my brother's best friend towards the ending because things got a bit messy even though i knew what was gonna happen at the ending, so.

obviously, i cried while reading the fault in our stars by john green and y'all know where i cried because you did too. though i didn't cry at the cinema watching the film which was weird because now i've seen it a lot of times and i cry almost every time??

hopeless by colleen hoover was a real tear-jerker for me, especially at 7am in a tent while everyone else was asleep (fun times in the united kingdom).

the fourth book i'd like to mention as a tear-jerker is mockingjay by suzanne collins and i got so angry at the film because it showed the emotional part for like a second???

and the last book is isla and the happily ever after by stephanie perkins and there were just tears of pure anger. i s2g.

bookmas day 6

on the sixth day of bookmas my true love gave to me six overhyped releases

for me, one of them is definitely it's kind of a funny story by ned vizzini because i just couldn't get into it as much and i know that people praised it while i just thought it was meh.

wattpad-wise, as much as i love this series, i think that the after series by anna todd is very hyped up and a bit unrealistic but it's entertaining so i guess i shouldn't really nag on that point. but, hell - over a billion views????

the divergent trilogy. i liked the first book a lot but then it just went kinda downhill for me.
the caster chronicles by kami garcia and margaret stohl. i can't get into this series but i'm willing to try reading it again, or the first two books i own, next year.

paper towns by john green. i thought that this wasn't as good as either 'looking for alaska' or 'the fault in our stars' and i liked the movie better than the book this time around.

and the last one is the maze runner trilogy by james dashner and i've made it my priority to read this next year but i see a lot of booktubers say that the book isn't very good? and they can't get into it and i can't help but think that i'm not gonna be able to get into it either but i want to try and i own the books, so...

bookmas day 7

on the seventh day of bookmas my true love gave to me seven fantasy world (i'm gonna put reads bc yeah)

now i don't know if cinder is considered exactly fantasy but i love it.

i really liked reading the selection trilogy by kiera cass earlier this year and it was really entertaining for me.

shatter me trilogy by tahereh mafi. hands down my favorite books i've read this year and i really want to own the hardbacks and ahh :')

i've only read the first book of the mortal instruments series, 'city of bones' by cassandra clare but it's entertaining and i definitely want to continue on next year.

and i shoudl probably mention the hunger games trilogy by suzanne collins here as well because i think it's a brilliant book series and i first read it - the first book - like three-four years ago.

i can't not mention the harry potter series by j. k. rowling here because it's what everyone has read and it's brillinat. everyone who hasn't read it, should stop what they're doing and start reading it now. i'm gonna read the fifth book soon. :-)

also i guess twilight is somewhat fantasy??? at least goodreads says so and i'm only getting into fantasy now and i have a huge stack of fantasy to read so i can't say much yet about reading fantasy books.

so.

i've already posted this on my new top fives post but i can't fail to put today's song out here:

everybody needs to see this video.

until next time and have a lovely christmas time!!
