60 - drunk words, sober thoughts
wowowow. it's been a while. soz.
hope everyone had a lovely christmas and happy new year already if i don't update before it!
i've read quite a lot during the time i haven't updated and some really good stuff.
first off, i finished reading project daddy up to the point where it has been written and things aren't looking up very much at this point but i really enjoyed reading it! i was all in for the drama.
then, obviously, i failed cramathon and i can't read 'harry potter and the order of the phoenix' in one day, so i failed harryxmastoyou as well. oopsies.
after 'project daddy', i started reading life and death by stephenie meyer and it was such a bummer for me. i had hella high expectations for it because i loved 'twilight' when i first read it when i was twelve. the ending was interesting because it was different to the original twilight series.
then my next wattpad pick was between us which was a michael clifford alternative universe story and i was a bit underwhelmed by it as well. it was your typical childhood best friends falling in love, writing songs about, going on tour together thing. wasn't very interesting to me though i have written shit like that but eh. *brb deleting all stories on my profile lmao*
then i picked up a short story called when it's too late and it was another mikey one. it was hella depressing though. trigger warning: suicide, depression, self-harm.
then came the very exciting, just straight outta winning the watty award 2015, drunk words, sober thoughts. this was so good. i loved this story so much because, again, it was a mystery solving story. there was always action, and all kinds of shit happened but it was so good. it's better to go into it without really knowing much because i knew nothing and it was really good in the end for me. it's probably for fans of other fanfics like 'phantom', 'motel 6' and even a little 'psychotic'. this was really a watty-worthy book. trigger warning: bullying, suicide.
i read a classic this month which was a surprise 'cause i'm not usually all about them classics, but i did read william shakespeare's macbeth because of the movie coming out and this book was so cruel.
then before finishing 'drunk words, sober thoughts', i read username: evie by joe sugg and i really liked it! i loved the world-building in this and as i haven't read many graphic novels unfortunately ('cause they're s o e x p e n s i v e) i loved it. the art style was stunning as well.
then i listened to about two hours of the resistance and i have ca three hours to go and i want to finish it but i'm nt feeling it, so i'll do that soon sometime.
then i finished reading another DNF-ed book - dead to you by lisa mcmann. the first forty pages that i'd read previously weren't much but when i picked it up again and read it straight to the end, i became quite emotional with it. i hated one of the characters so so much but they ended up not being the bad guy after all in the end. smh. so much tension.
then i wanted to try and finish reading the miniaturist but i just couldn't get past more than ten pages, so that will be for another time.
then i picked up linger again and i've read half of it so far. so far, so good. we're getting there.
last night i read sugardaddy.com on wattpad and it was getting so exciting but it only had fourteen chapters out so far and i had a surprise this morning and the author had updated it after like three months! so good.
and now we're in the present day and i am reading linger plus i picked out my next wattpad read which is perilous flames and i have a feeling it's a fantasy michael story and i am so very excited to read it.
i will do a collective 'top 2015'/what i read in 2015' post very very soon, probably today even! so look out for that.
today's song choice is one direction's 'hey angel'. s/o to kadri.
until next post
x o
