94 - red queen + adam lambert
it happened.
i read red queen finally. it took me three days to finish but i swear i would've kept going if i owned 'glass sword' (which i don't yet). it took me a while to get into because all the terms for all the people who have abilities took a bit to memorize and i liked how there wasn't much of a romance in it. i instantly loved cal from when he was brought up and the love for this guy kept on until the end, no matter the things that our main character mare believed throughout it.
however, i feel like mare was a little bit naive but at the same time she was cautious i guess? and, yes, i am talking about the ever-so-wonderful maven. the ending to this book flew by so fast! i read like about the last hundred pages in about two hours because it got me hooked so much because there was a ton of action towards the ending. can't wait to pick up the sequel, now that i think about it, actually. i gave it a three point five stars on goodreads.
then i picked up all i know now by carrie hope fletcher, read seventy-ish pages, and then decided that this is not a book to sit down and read in one go. obviously, it's sort of a self-help book for young adults, in a way, but since it includes a ton of stories from carrie's teenage life, it could as well be an autobiography. i've put it off reading for now because i can't read non-fiction in one go, i just don't know, i just can't. but i am really enjoying what i've read so far!
right now i'm reading ugly love by colleen hoover which is my third pick for author-a-thon (which i am so very obvioulsy failing) and i'm intrigued. i've so far read two chapters and i have a feeling about what might happen to our two main characters and i like how we basically instantly get the back story of miles' past relationship in his point of view, but still be on the edge with the typical colleen hoover moves in the book. can't wait to see what happens in it and i'm hoping to finish it over the weekend, actually.
i've been reading a lot on april's blog today, for the first time really i want to say, and as i've been watching her videos for about a year now (i guess?), i became intrigues with her reviews of books on her blog. i liked the layout of her posts a lot so i thought i might start doing something similar on mine, just with the basics like add the cover of books and the stats and my tiny reviews will stay the same as i've been writing them on here, maybe a little more detailed. what do you think? i'm obsessed with lsits, so i really would like to do more stuff with lists or add more tags or stuff on here (most definitely not doing a booktube channel because i'm the most awkward person ever). so - yeah?
but as of authorathon... i'm not completing it because i don't think i'd be able to finish reading four books in the span of three days. oops? maybe taking past of dewey's 24-hour read-a-thon tomorrow but we'll see.
so, on wednesday i went to see adam lambert live and he was so amazing, his voice is absolutely as if taken off his albums and it was just the a capella versions. he sounds absolutely fantastic live, he was funny and looked his absolute best, as always. i can not wait for june fifth to see him again - but this time around with queen. i'm so so happy he performed one of my favorite songs ever by him.
which brings me to today's song choice - adam lambert's 'runnin''. this song is fab.
until next time
