synopsis:
When Tate Collins meets
airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They
wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only
thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction.
Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the
perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so
that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly
seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for
her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

this was a one giant roller coaster of emotions for me. i felt three million emotions while reading this and as i just finished reading it yesterday, i can't seem to stop thinking about it, which is a bit bad in a way because i'm trying to read a new book but my mind keeps coming back to this one.
i'm pretty positive that this is my favorite colleen hoover book so far but i'd have to re-read 'hopeless' before deciding that.
i loved that basically all of the male characters in this book were pilots. i found that really an interesting aspect (except for one guy, i guess).
this is definitely the book that has the most sex scenes out of all colleen's books (if i don't count 'too late' which i've only heard is quite heavy on that point, haven't read it yet and it's on wattpad only) but i don't actually mind it because i've read a ton of romance novels that have sex scenes, and with this book, it was really one of the main points, so...
i also really liked that it was in a dual point of view, which at this point was a new thing with colleen's books because she previously had published 'losing hope' which is the guys p.o.v. of 'hopeless' and 'that girl' which is in the point of view of the guy in 'slammed'. i did enjoy them but i guess i just read them too close to the first book and it made them a bit boring to me.
miles' point of view was super interesting though, just because it was his thoughts six years before the events that happen in tate's point of view, and eventually in miles'. although i feel like the 'six years back' miles was a bit dramatic and too expectant.
the other thing i liked was that the characters in this were older than mostly in new adult or generally in colleen's books.
i know that this book is in the process of becoming a movie, which is totally cool and i can't wait for the movie to come out. to be honest, miles (in the movie, the actor for miles is nick bateman - here's a photo) basically looks exactly like i pictured him to be in the book, which usually never happens with me. i'm usually always disappointed in what some characters look when i've read the books first. i'm really hoping that the movie comes out at least late this year, or like next year, 'cause i know at first it was supposed to come out like this year in march? but they haven't even started filming it yet and colleen answered a bunch of things on her facebook post just today. also, i just read on another instagram post that the movie is set to be filmed starting in may. so i guess around the time i said is about right? yes? no?
i'd do a full-on spoiler-y review because i have so many things to talk about when it comes to this book and i'd want to point out all the things i loved and all the things that made me want to rip my hair out but i know a lot ot people haven't read it and i just can't give spoilers, sorry. if you want spoilers, watch this video by christine riccio/polandbananasbooks.
this is the end of my little review of 'ugly love' by colleen hoover! how do you like this little set-up for books that i want to review in a bit of a longer sense? i won't probably review every single one liek this but i'll try and do every book from now like this, including the little details and the book cover and the synopsis, + a bit of my thoughts. yes? good?
today's song choice is moose blood's 'honey' 'cause it recently came out and it's a+, yes.
until next time
x o
